This February we danced for violence against women
One Billion Rising (OBR) was held this year on Valentine’s Day, 14.2, in Palackého Náměstí. OBR was founded in 2012 by Eve Ensler. It is the biggest mass action to end violence against women in history. The "billion" refers to the UN statistic that 1 in 3 women will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. OBR is held in countries around the world on Valentine’s Day, where women dance to choreography (by Debbie Allen) to signal feminist solidarity.
